For children and grownups of all ages
Harp, transverse flute, words in movement and direct contact with elements of the stage design, allows children in the audience to “play” the play.
– “Grandma, why do I have smooth white skin and yours is dark and crumpled?”
– Because mine has many crinkles from laughing in the sun, dear.
With this dialogue, a story begins that will transport the audience to a magical world. At the start of the play, a bare space with only 10 boxes is presented on stage. In each of them, different stories of crinkles unfold, such as grandma’s first kiss, the first time she went bike riding with her brother, the first fight with her friend Martina, the day she bid farewell to her family and friends to embark on a trip with Telmo, the death of her Dad. By the end, the space is full of life, complete with small glints from each crinkle.
The children in the audience are asked to get on the stage from time to time to explore the props which are used by the actress to narrate the origins of her crinkles. By having direct contact with different elements of the stage the children in the audience “touch” the play. A few drops of sprinkled water and bits of fruit will help them stay alert to discover the next intriguing item that will surprise them.
At the end of the show, children will have the opportunity to play the harp and collectively build an artistic mural.
