Baltazar Juárez
Fourth place winner at the USA International Harp Competition (Bloomington, USA, 1998), considered the most important harp contest in the world. In 2013, he had the honor of being the first Mexican ever invited to be part of the jury for the same competition.
Second place winner at the American Harp Society’s National Competition (Los Angeles, USA, 1999).
Founder and artistic director of the Mexico International Harp Festival and Competition, whose fifth edition will be held in November 2017.
Baltazar Juárez has successfully toured in North America, Latin America and Europe, both as a concert performer and as an orchestra musician. His involvements as a soloist include, among others, the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Zagreb Soloist, Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra, Xalapa Symphony Orchestra, Mexico Chamber Orchestra and Mexico National Symphony Orchestra.
He regularly teaches master classes and offers recitals at the most prestigious institutions in the world: Glazbena Skola Vatroslava Lisinskog (Zagreb, Croatia), American Harp Society 41st National Conference (New Orleans, EUU, 2014); Federal University of Minas Gerais (Belo Horizonte, Brazil, 2015); Master Works Festival (Winona Lake, USA, 2015); Arpa Week (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2015); Anderson University (Indisana, USA, 2016); AHS New Orleans Chapter (New Orleans, 2017)
He studied at the National Conservatory of Mexico and completed his studies with Susana Mildonian (Accademia Musicale Chigiana, Siena, Italy) and Susann McDonald at Indiana University (Bloomington, USA), where he obtained his Performer Diploma and Artist Diploma.
