Alicia Griffiths Turrillas
Winner of the 2011 John Marson Harp Prize for Outstanding Musicianship. The award included a recital at St Martin-in-the-Fields, London, UK.
Graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London, United Kingdom.
Alicia Griffiths Turrillas plays regularly with the Symphonic Orchestra of Navarra and has performed with the Lisbon Gulbenkian Foundation Orchestra, London Mahler Orchestra, Bloomsbury Chamber Orchestra, Royal Orchestral Society, Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, Young Basque Country Orchestra and Young Norwegian National Orchestra, among others.
She was born in Pamplona, Spain, into a family of great musical tradition. Her maternal grandfather, Manuel Turrillas, is one of the most renowned writers of popular music in Navarre. After completing her secondary studies at the Pablo Sarasate Conservatory in Pamplona, Alicia moved to Wales in 2006 to study harp at the Welsh Royal College of Music and Drama, where she obtained a Bachelor of Music degree.
In 2013, she completed her Masters in Music Performance with Gabriella Dall’Olio and Frances Kelly (baroque harp) at the Trinity Laban Conservatory of Music and Dance in London, where she has also worked as a harp and chamber music teacher in the Junior department.
